Hardening-Off / Transplanting

Your plants have spent most of their lives inside so far. To acclimate them to the outdoors, they should be left outdoors during the day for two or three days, taking them in at night. Keep watering them, and if they start to wilt, bring them back inside until they perk back up. After a few days, they will be ready to stay out all night, and you're ready to transplant them into the ground.

The peat pots that your plants are in can be planted directly in the ground, where they will compost into the soil, or you can carefully turn the plant upside down, holding the soil and plant together, can carefully shake out the plant, making sure to keep the roots intact. To transplant, dig a hole where you want your plant, and place the start into the hole, burying it all the way up the stem to the first leaves. Pat the soil down around it, and give it plenty of water then and the first couple of days.
